    IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT OUR CHAPTER

Dear Members of Staffing Management Association - CT,

As President of Staffing Management Association, CT (SMA), I’m excited to share an
important update that marks a meaningful step forward for our chapter and brings
enhanced value to every one of our members. After thoughtful planning and
collaboration, we will be transitioning to a Dual Membership Relationship (DMR) with
the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), effective April 13. This strategic
evolution strengthens our chapter, expands your access to resources, and positions our
community for continued growth and impact. Most importantly, it delivers greater value,
    simplicity, and connection for you.

Here’s what this means for you:

A Simpler, More Connected Membership Experience
No more separate renewals. With dual membership, joining or renewing with SMA will
automatically include your SHRM national membership. This single, streamlined
process keeps you connected both locally and nationally, eliminating extra
administrative steps and making membership easier to manage.

    Enhanced Programming & Member Experience
By simplifying backend administrative processes, our board will be able to dedicate
even more time and resources to what matters most, delivering high quality, relevant,
and engaging programming. This allows us to sharpen our focus on professional
development, meaningful networking, leadership growth, and timely HR insights that
    support your career.

Immediate Access to SHRM National Resources
Dual membership provides seamless access to SHRM’s extensive national resources,
including research, legal and compliance tools, certification pathways, HR templates,
policy guidance, and a global HR network. The combination of a strong local community
and national expertise creates a powerful professional advantage.

Stronger Alignment with the National HR Community
Formalizing this partnership strengthens our chapter’s position within the broader HR
landscape. It allows SMA to better leverage SHRM’s influence and resources while
continuing to advocate for and elevate the HR profession right here in Connecticut.

A Special Thank You, Renewal Grace Period
As we align our local renewal cycle with SHRM as part of the Dual Membership
Relationship, SMA will implement a Renewal Grace Period to ensure continuity for our
members. This applies to members who are currently active, recently expired, or approaching their renewal date. During this period, members will continue to receive full
chapter benefits while renewal timelines are realigned.

We will communicate frequently throughout this transition and share additional details in
the coming weeks regarding renewals and expanded membership value. Members
who currently belong to SMA but do not hold an active SHRM national
membership, including those with recent or upcoming SMA expirations, are
encouraged to stay tuned for important and exciting updates that will bring
    tremendous value to you.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or
    any member of our board.

Thank you for being part of Staffing Management Association, CT. I am incredibly
proud of the strong, supportive HR community we’ve built together, and I’m even more
excited for what’s ahead in 2026!

    Warmly,
    Chrissy Semenza
    President, Staffing Management Association- CT
